DMR Technologies’ Lafayette plan covers more than final drone assembly. Louisiana Economic Development’s October 2, 2025 announcement described component printing, rotor manufacturing, quality control and logistics at a planned domestic production hub for the Field Ranger X50.

The announced investment was $1.4 million. LED reported a goal of 521 new direct jobs over ten years, with an average annual salary of $85,000. Its separate estimate of 766 indirect jobs described potential activity beyond the company, not additional positions inside the plant.

The first-year production target was 500 to 1,000 drones. LED’s announcement described renovations to a 10,000-square-foot facility and anticipated operations by the end of 2025. These were the plans announced then; the release does not report subsequent production totals or a completed workforce count.

On its mission page, checked September 15, 2026, DMR describes manufacturing and service teams in Lafayette as part of a network that also includes international production, research and distribution. That is the company’s current description of its local role, rather than independent confirmation that the earlier numerical targets were met.

The distinction matters when assessing what this kind of investment brings to a community. A manufacturing address, a hiring commitment and annual output describe different parts of an operation. The state release supplies the proposed scale and time horizon; the company identifies Lafayette’s manufacturing-and-service function.

Together, the sources describe an attempt to build an industrial drone supply business locally. They do not establish that all 521 jobs have arrived or that the first-year production target has been reached.
